  • 11 October (Monday) 2010 - Columbus Day - (second Monday in October)
     
  • 16 & 17 October 2010 - NYS Sheep and Wool Festival - Rhinebeck, New York.
     
  • 16 & 17 October 2010 - Kentuck Festival of the Arts - Celebrates a variety of artistic styles ranging from folk to contemporary arts as well as traditional crafts, in Northport, Alabama.
     
  • 17 October (Sunday) 2010 - Detroit Free Press Marathon - The marathon, half marathon and team relays offer an international course crossing the US and Canadian border twice via the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel (the only underwater international mile in the world). In addition to the international course, participants will experience the true spirit of Detroit passing through Corktown, Mexicantown, Belle Isle, Indian Village and Greektown before finishing on the 50 yard line of Ford Field, home of the 2006 Super Bowl XL.
